2 Positions available as Marie Skłodowska Curie Early Stage Research (including PhD) in Italy

Dear candidate,
there are now available two Marie Curie Early Stage Research (ESR) positions at INGV ( in Rome, Italy. The ESRs will be involved  in the TREASURE project with a three years contract. The deadline for applications is 13 March 2017. 
ESR1: TEC and Scintillation modelling and forecasting (starting at june 2017)
ESR11: ICT Technical Feasibility Study (starting at September 2017)

Candidates must have a Master of Science Degree in a numerate discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Informatics together with a keen interest in areas including Physics, Geophysics, Mathematics, Statistics, Modelling, Forecasting, Electronics, Signal Processing, Geodesy, Surveying, Mapping, Navigation, Imaging, Data Management, Data Assimilation, Geo-informatics, Remote Sensing, and Telecommunications. An ability to publish research papers and to present work at seminars, workshops and conferences is required. Experience in IT and computer programming, as well as a willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork, are essential for these posts. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are also fundamental to the success of this project, which will include additional training that will equip the fellows for research careers in the modern academic world and prepare them for interaction with industry.

Please note the following:
1) the deadline to submit your application/s to INGV is 13 March 2017.
2) read carefully the adverts and submit your application/s as explained in the adverts (in particular read Art. 1, Art.3, Art. 5, ANNEX A, ANNEX C)
3) you can participate to both the selections for  ESR1/ESR11 but two separate applications must be submitted.
4) take care of the eligibility requirements (Art.3), in particular explicit  in your CV if  you are within the first four years (full-time equivalent) of your research career. For example, if you are collaborating from 2011 with a research  institution/university etc..., you have to  declare only the time you spent in doing research from that time to 2017 (the result could be less than 4 years if you had also other  assignments/commitments, e.g. teaching).
